Missed call text back: Allio texts them before they ring another studio
Missed call text back is included in Allio’s $297 plan for portrait studios, with phone usage billed at cost. Switch it on for your studio number, and when a call goes unanswered, Allio sends the caller a text from that same number within moments: “Sorry we missed you, we’re with a client. What can we help with?” The text and the missed call both land on the caller’s record, so your booker can pick it up the second they’re off the call they’re on.

How it works
1. A call goes unanswered. Your team is on other calls, mid-session, or the studio is closed.
2. The caller gets a text. Allio sends your message from the number they called, so the reply comes from a number they recognise. Setup note: texting needs carrier registration before this can send, which can take a few weeks. Calls work from day one; text back starts once registration is approved.
3. It lands on their record. The missed call and the text appear in the inbox on the caller’s record, new or existing, ready for whoever picks it up.
4. Your team follows up. Reply by text from the inbox or call back from the record. If you want, add a follow up automation to keep the conversation going.
Make the message yours
Write it in your studio’s voice. Set your own wording once, such as “Hi, it’s the team at [your studio]. We’re in a session right now. What can we help with? We’ll call you back shortly.”
Different messages for different times. Send one message during opening hours and another after hours, with a link to book a consultation online. This takes a short automation rather than the basic setting.
Count what you’d have lost. Missed calls show on the Call Reporting Dashboard, so you can see how many callers you’ve caught that would otherwise have gone elsewhere. The dashboard is included in the $297 plan at no extra charge.
Why it matters for portrait studios
A parent looking for a newborn photographer may ring several studios in a row. If you’re mid-session and miss the call, the next studio that answers usually gets the booking. A text back within moments tells them a real studio got their call and will be back to them, and it gives them an easy way to reply with what they need.
How it compares
Missed-call text back needs the phone and the texting in the same system. Dubsado, Sprout Studio, Pixieset Studio Manager and Studio Ninja don’t list a phone line on their product pages, and HoneyBook’s August 2026 phone add-on doesn’t describe an automatic text back on missed calls in its help article (all checked 2026-10-22). Does the text come from my studio number?
Yes. Allio sends the text from the number the caller dialled, so they see a reply from the number they rang.
Can I change the message?
Yes. You write the message once in your own words. Once you switch it on for your number, it’s sent each time a call is missed.
Does it work straight away?
Calling works from the moment your number is live. Texting, including missed-call text back, starts once carrier registration for your number is approved, which can take a few weeks.
What does it cost?

Will it text people I don't want to text?
It only texts callers whose call you miss, existing clients included. It won’t text anyone who has replied STOP or whom you’ve marked do not disturb for texts.
