Photography CRMs with AI in 2026: what each one's AI actually does
Nearly every photography CRM now says it has AI. Most of it helps you write: emails, forms, questionnaires. Very little of it answers your clients or your phone. Here is what each one’s own pages say its AI does, checked on 22 October 2026, and where each one is the better choice.

Two kinds of AI
AI that helps you write. It drafts an email, builds a form, rewrites a message in your tone or summarises a meeting. You still send everything and answer every call. This is useful, and most photography CRMs now have some of it.
AI that talks to your clients. It replies to texts and DMs, answers the phone, offers open times and books the session, with you approving or not as you choose. That’s what matters most to a studio that misses enquiries while shooting.

Where the phone fits
None of the other tools above lists an AI that answers phone calls. HoneyBook comes closest with its Business Phone add-on, which forwards calls to your phone and records and summarises calls from known contacts, and Dubsado’s Call Recorder records video meetings.
In Allio, the AI receptionist answers your studio number when you choose, answers questions, books the session and saves the call, transcript and summary on the client’s record. With consent, the AI can also call clients back.
Where the others genuinely win
HoneyBook has the broadest writing and admin AI of the group: reply drafts that learn your tone, lead and follow up suggestions, meeting notes and project summaries, on every plan.
Pixieset and Studio Ninja’s Aftershoot partnership put AI where photographers spend hours: culling and editing. Allio doesn’t cull or edit photos.
Sprout Studio pairs its writing AI with galleries, proofing and a print store in one product.
VSCO Workspace comes with a VSCO One plan, so if you already use VSCO, Scout is there to help you set up.
Which one you should pick
Choose a writing-first CRM if
most enquiries arrive by email, you’re happy to send every reply yourself, and what you want from AI is faster emails, forms or editing.
Choose Allio if
enquiries arrive by text, Instagram, Facebook and phone, you miss some while you’re shooting, and you want AI that answers and books, with you approving each reply until you trust it.

Which photography CRM has the best AI?
It depends on the job. For writing and admin, HoneyBook AI is the broadest of the tools we checked. For AI that replies to clients by text and DM, answers the phone and books sessions, Allio was the only one we found, checked 22 October 2026.
Does HoneyBook AI reply to clients automatically?

Does Dubsado have AI?

Is there a photography CRM with an AI receptionist?
Allio has one: it answers your studio number, answers questions, books sessions and saves each call on the client’s record. We found no AI call answering in the other tools on this page.
What does it cost?
